Ron and Sherron were married on February 1, 1963 in Victoria, BC where they remained until 1978.  The family moved to Calgary and remained there until 2006, when Sherron joined Ron in retirement and they returned to Victoria.  Their children and grandsons joined them soon after.

Ron was a proud Red Seal Carpenter and worked in the industry in both Victoria and Calgary.  The last 17 years of Ron’s work life was spent with the Calgary Board of Education Facilities Services, a job that he often said: “the best job I ever had”.

Ron leaves behind his adored wife Sherron (nee Arnold), of more than 57 years, his sister Joan Barrick (Manuel) and her family; cherished children, son Larry and former and much-loved daughter-in-law Judy Gabor (Calgary), daughter Laura and best friend Darin Kourie and grandsons Gregory and Kyle, great-grandson Grayson and his mother Kayleigh McColl.  Also, he leaves sisters-in-law Anne Hughes (Bob) and Sandy Gibson, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially the Jerry the late Wayne Morris family.

Ron never passed by without a cheerful hello and a “thought for the day”.
He had a solution for everything and no task or situation was too small for his attention.
We will miss our daily encounters with Ron accompanied by his beloved faithful, furry side kick.
Our condolences go to Sherron and family.

My heart is heavy. Ron was such a bundle of fun. Sherron always kept him in check, and he loved that. So many memories that make me laugh. Losing his eye brows bbq’ing, fighting for the salt shacker, and teaching me how to dance to the oldies. What an amazing journey that only age, and time can appreciate.. Until we meet again, my friend☺
