Ronald passed away peacefully on April 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Broadmead Lodge. Ron was born to Clifford and Pearl Walker on November 5, 1932 in Victoria, BC.  Ron lived his entire life in Victoria and attended Sir James Douglas Elementary, Central Junior High and Victoria Senior High schools.

Predeceased by his brothers Irving (1987) and Donald (2015); Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Lois, their six children, Lynne, Russ (Leslie), Susan (Gary), Karen (Grant), Barb and Shirley (Ken), 13 grandchildren and their spouses, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ron was a generous, hardworking and proud man to which he instilled a strong family and work ethic in all his children.  He apprenticed as a cabinet maker before starting a 12-year career as a finishing carpenter and later ran his own construction company.  During this time, Ron and Lois also ‘built’ their family and their own home.  Ron later hung up his tools and spent 21 years as Chief Building Inspector with the City of Victoria before retiring.  Ron took great pride in his home and family.

Ron had a life-long love of the bagpipes which he learned to play in the Canadian Scottish Pipe Band.  He is now at peace and has joined the pipers in the sky…..we love you Ron/Dad/Papa and will always miss you!

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

Special thanks to the caring staff at the Broadmead Lodge for their compassion, exceptional care and endless patience!
