It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear husband, Salvador Raposo. Salvador passed away peacefully in my arms, after spending a wonderful day with his family. Salvador and I came to Canada from Portugal, after getting married in 1972.

Sal is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Juvite, son Nelson Raposo (w. Joanne), daughter Gina Grand (h. Cam), and his two beautiful grandchildren Emma Grand and Aaron Grand, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

His memory will be survived by, and carried on by, our fond memories and stories from a life that was lived well.

A Traditional Funeral Mass will be held at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 10:30am.

Salvador was our next door neighbour for many wonderful years. He was a very kind and giving person. We enjoyed the passion he showed for his family, vegetable garden, his fruit trees and his yard as he would always share the items he so passionately grew in his yard. Salvador was person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was always tinkering and building something to make things more beautiful and easier around the house and yard.

I always enjoyed our talks and the things we shared, we used to get each other wound up about certain topics, to the point where I’m sure people thought we were arguing but we were just passionate about the topic we were on. When we finished we would always walk away laughing.

God Speed to our wonderful friend and neighbour. You may be gone, but never forgotten. We know you will be watching us from above.

To Judy, Gina, Nelson, Joanne, Emma and Aaron, you were very lucky to have such a great man as you husband, dad and grandpa.

From the bottom of our hearts we send you ALL, our deepest condolences.

    Bernie & Barb
