Ted passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital on March 19, 2021, at the age of 84.  Predeceased by his wife, Florence; granddaughter, Sabrina; sister and brother-in-law, May and Charlie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hing, Yee Shee, May, Jeff, Roger, Anna, and Diana.  He will be lovingly remembered and missed by many including his children, Claudia (Robert), Gerald, Claude (Sharon), and Geraldine (Jackson); his grandsons, Chris, Jordan, Jacob, Landon and Tyler; his brothers, Tim (Ella) and David; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Nina (Doug); and many cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends.

Ted worked for many years at Fairway Markets and then devoted all of his time to taking care of Florence after he retired.  Many will remember his willingness to assist others, his kindness, hard-working ethics and his love for the SF 49ers.  He brought a smile to many people’s faces with his funny, but no-nonsense wit!  The family would like to express their gratitude to the Palliative Care Team at RJH for their compassionate care.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm.  However, due to Covid restrictions, guests can attend the service via Zoom by clicking on the zoom link below.

Our sincerest condolences to the Wong family on your loss. Like many who will miss his presence my brother and I knew him as Uncle Ted. To my father and late mother, Uncle Ted and Auntie Florence were amongst our family’s oldest and dearest friends. We will always remember him as a kind, ever smiling, gentle person.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. We will miss Uncle Ted, especially his witty sense of humour, but it encourages us to think that he’s reunited with Auntie Florence and making her and others laugh in Heaven.

    Claudia, Gerald, Claude & Geraldine:

My mother will forever be grateful to Uncle Ted and Auntie Florence for their friendship and support throughout the years, especially when both my mom and dad were working and your folks were there to look out for me and included me in many of your family outings (picnic at Willows Beach and jaunt to Ladysmith come to mind). It’s hard to believe that a constant throughout my childhood and most of my life is no longer among us. We will miss him immensely. Until we meet again in Heaven.
