My love died on March 16, 2023

My heart is broken.

Tom was born on May 14, 1948 in Lethbridge Alberta. He had a good childhood running with his buddies, skating and tobogganing in the winter, swimming in the summer, and as a young teenager was a member of the Sea Cadets.

In Edmonton, in the winter of 1967, he saw a sign that said “Join the Navy young man, and see the world.” So he did! He saw the Far East, the South Pacific and South America and visited Hawaii 14 times. This gave him a lifelong love of warm, sunny places.

After 12 years, he was tired of going to sea, so changed his marine engineering ticket to a stationary ticket and went on to work at the Empress Hotel. Where he rose to be Assistant Chief Engineer. After working at the Swiftsure on Bellview for a while he finished his engineering career with the Victoria School Board #61.

Not one to be idle, he soon went back to work for the Commissonaires and stayed with them till 2014 when he and Lynn both officially retired. This led to annual trips to Mexico, P.V. being his favorite place. There were frequent road trips into BC and Alberta and all over Vancouver Island.

Tom loved camping, reading, challenging crossword puzzles, and always enjoyed a cold bevy on a warm summer day. The last couple of years were hard for him as he struggled with COPD and couldn’t do all the things he would have liked to do.

Tom left behind his wife Lynn, a multitude of lifelong friends, his family of cousins in Lethbridge and a much loved nephew in Sweden.

We would like to thank the nurses on 6D North at VGH and a special thanks to Dr. Forgrrai who was wonderful at the end.

There will be a gathering at a later date when the sun is shining and the weather is warm.

Rest peacefully my honey.

I love you.
