It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our loving mother Verna Harbar, who slipped away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018. She will be greatly missed. Verna was predeceased by her husband William, sons Brent and Nolan. She leaves behind her sons Michael (Pat), Dean and daughter Danette, along with 4 Grandchildren: Ashley, Grant, Wills and Ryan. Verna is also survived by her brother Alan Bersey.

Mom enjoyed many years travelling, playing Bridge, Lawn bowling, and enjoying the company of her friends and relatives, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She spent most of her adult life in Victoria, BC where she raised her family, but always had a fondness for the Comox Valley where she grew up.

The family would like to thank the Management and Staff at the Oak Bay Lodge for the continuous care and comfort given to her, in these past 2 years.

The family respectfully declines any offering of flowers, but instead welcome you to join them at an informal gathering to Celebrate Verna’s Life, which will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

My deep condolences to Danette, Dean, Michael and family on Verna’s passing. I have fond memories of Verna going back to the very early 70s when I was often invited to join the family for meals, or just to hang out, when I spent time with Brent. In recent years I occasionally had a visit with her when I returned to Canada to see my family and friends. She was always welcoming, gracious, chatty and fun at those times and I always enjoyed the visits. I know she will be missed by many.
