With the compassion and loving care of the staff of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit, our dearest Wendy died peacefully on Saturday, April 4th, 2020. Wendy was 62 and during her life always maintained those high principals of truth, honesty and charity as well as displaying a joie de vivre – an inspiration to all.

Throughout her life Wendy maintained a strong work ethic and was diligent in all her tasks. She was proud of achieving her 35 year Service Award with the BC Provincial government which was especially challenging for her after her cancer diagnosis in 2010. Wendy was born in Oklahoma, USA but raised as a true and loyal Canadian, being active in her early years with the Air Force and Navy Cadet Leagues of Canada.

Wendy is survived by her mother, June Plint, brother Colin Plint (Vivian), sons Sean Poiré (Meghan), James Poiré, treasured grandson Dylan Poiré, niece Wendy Plint, nephew Geoff Plint, many relatives and friends in the United Kingdom and New Zealand as well as life long friends Mark Poiré, Wendy Charlesworth and Mia Schaftlein.

Met Wendy for just a few hours of her short life
I knew I had met someone special and so organized, warm and loving.
In fact, an Angel who has left her heart with everyone she met.
    Honoured to have met Wendy.

Too my Mum. I love you. I miss you..
You gave me life, you gave me a voice.
You gave me a life, in turn I gave you a grandson. I love you mummy. I love you a 100x onward. What I would give too have a hug right now. Dylan always points too the carts we rode in NZ and says grandma.. he loves you and remembers you. I watch this every day. I’m just a little busy right now. See you soon

In my previous condolence message to the family about Wendy Poire, Vivian and Meghan and Dylan should have been included by name. I am not able to go back and edit that message. They were a big part of Wendy’s life. We will all miss her very much. RIP Wendy, the sun is shining today. Love, Mark

It was a beautiful ceremony (thank you Fiona) and I am sure she is smiling from up above. She was an inspiration to all of us and her life was ended far too soon.
