SHANKLAND, William – Unexpectedly at home on October 13, 2002. Predeceased by his brother, Dave, he is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Hilda; nephews, Christopher (Nancy and son, Jordan) and Lawrence (Paula); as well as many good friends.

He was a member of the 407 (Demons) Pathfinder Squadron during WWII serving in Europe and Africa. After the war, Bill worked for over 40 years as an air traffic controller in Manitoba, Ontario and BC. He enjoyed his regular monthly meetings with his fellow veterans of the 407 Squadron.

Private cremation will be held.
