Gloria died peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with MS on January 10, 2017.  She was born on August 27, 1935 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.  Gloria is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Ron and by her children, Tracy (Larry) and Kelly (Tom); her loving sister, Patty (Jack); grandchildren, Derek (Cindy), Jaclyn (Ben) and great-grandchildren, James and Annalyn.

Gloria and Ron were married in 1958 in Winnipeg, MB and slowly moved west finally landing in Victoria in 1974.  Gloria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing better than spending time with and caring for her family.  She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, picnics and golfing until MS struck her in 1996.  Gloria had a great sense of humour, usually at the expense of Ron, and she retained her sense of humour to the end.  She touched the lives of many friends and family and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.

No service, by request.  A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

MY SISTER GLORIA WAS ONE YEAR OLDER THAN ME. GROWING UP, SHE WAS MY ROCK. HER ENDURING AND SWEET NATURE CONINUED TO THE PRESENT DAY.
AFTER WE GREW UP, EVEN THOUGH WE LIVED MANY MILES AWAY, IT WAS AS THOUGH SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE TO HOLD MY HAND. SHE IS THE BRAVEST PERSON I KNOW.
I AM, AND EVER WILL BE, SO THANKFUL FOR HER LOVING HUSBAND AND DEAR CARING FAMILY, WHO WERE WITH HER TO THE VERY END.
ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS, JACK AND PATTY
