Burial of a deceased person can only take place on property that is designated as a cemetery by provincial statute. Our funeral directors will assist you in selecting an appropriate burial site in Greater Victoria, on the Gulf Islands, or elsewhere in British Columbia. The prices of burial plots vary depending on which cemetery you select.

Traditional burial provides a permanent and dedicated place for family and friends to visit, remember and honour someone who has died. Families may choose burial because of personal preference, religious or cultural traditions, an existing family burial site, or simply because they find comfort in having a lasting place of remembrance.
The most common choice is burial in an individual cemetery plot. Depending on the cemetery, families may also have options such as side-by-side family plots, double-depth burial, entombment in an above-ground mausoleum crypt, or green burial in a natural setting using biodegradable materials. Our funeral directors can explain the different options available and help you choose the type of burial that best reflects your wishes, values and traditions.
No. If your family does not already have a cemetery plot, our funeral directors can help you explore the options available. We work with cemeteries throughout Greater Victoria, the Gulf Islands and elsewhere in British Columbia and can assist with coordinating the burial arrangements.
Burial can be combined with many different types of services, including a traditional funeral, visitation, graveside service, Celebration of Life or memorial reception. The burial may take place immediately following the service, several days before or after, or at another time altogether, depending on your family’s wishes.
Yes. Many cemeteries offer options that allow spouses, partners or other family members to be buried near one another. Depending on the cemetery and availability, this may include adjoining plots, family areas or other arrangements. If keeping family members together is important to you, we can help explore the available options.
Traditional burial does not mean the service itself needs to follow a particular format. Music, readings, photographs, flowers, personal items, religious or cultural traditions and other meaningful touches can all be incorporated. Our role is to help create a farewell that genuinely reflects the person being remembered.
Yes. Burial arrangements can be made in advance, allowing you to document your wishes and make many of the decisions ahead of time. If you already own a cemetery plot, those details can be incorporated into your prearrangements. If not, we can help explain the cemetery options available.
