No. Preplanning is documenting your wishes. Prepaying is funding them in advance. You can do either, both, or start with one and add the other later.
 At McCall Gardens, most meetings run 60 to 90 minutes. If you just have questions that you need answers to take backto your family, that takes about 30 to 45 minutes. 
Prepaid arrangements made at McCall Gardens through our provider are transferable across Canada. MarLisa will walk you through exactly how this works. 
Your funds remain your funds. At McCall Gardens, preneed contracts are regulated and cancellable, with specific refund rules depending on how the plan was funded. MarLisa will explain the details for your situation.
McCall Gardens keeps your plan on file. When the time comes, your family contacts us with a copy of your paperwork (or we look you up in our system) and we take it from there. We are not notified by the hospital or care facility - they family representative needs to contact us first. 
Preneed funds are held outside the funeral home itself, in funeral insurance or trusts. Your funds are protected by BC law regardless of what happens to the business. They can then be assigned to a new funeral home.
