A True Gentleman! Our wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on November 6, 2012 at Sun Ridge Place in Duncan, BC. Born August 8, 1917 and lived most of his married life in Victoria. Gordon was predeceased by his lovely wife and childhood sweetheart, Isabella (Stewart) Winter on December 15, 2004. Gordon and Isabel met and started their long term partnership at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Victoria, BC when they were in the Young Peoples Club. Gordon is survived by his brother, Walter in Kamloops, BC and his five sons, Gary (Maureen), Stewart (Lynne), Allan (Carolyn), John, David (Joanna); 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. We will miss you dad! The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at Sun Ridge Place who welcomed Gordon and cared for him for the past four years. We are very grateful for the quality of care and compassion they showed for dad and the family.
There will be no service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Craig Aguiar-Winter My Grandfather was an incredible man and role model to me. In addition to being a great Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and servant to his community, he was also a veteran of World War II. True to his character, he volunteered to serve his country and offered himself in service to those who couldn’t help themselves. He was a true Canadian hero, in a time when the world needed heroes the most. Through us he lives on and will never be forgotten. To my Uncles and especially my Dad, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that you have two angles watching over you all the time.

We are thinking of you and remembering Uncle Gordon with deep respect and many warm memories. He truly lived a full, rich life and lived it with great honour in the midst of a large, loving family. From fishing trips to the curling rink, and hundreds of family dinners and gatherings over the years, we know you have a wealth of good stories, fun times and heart-warming moments to remember him by.
He treated the world well. He will be missed . . .

I worked with your Dad in Youbou from 1956 to 1959 and also knew him in Victoria in the early 1950’s when he was a First Aid Timekeeper at the Victoria mill.
In my subsequent 40 years in the industry, Gordon was one of the finest, highest principled men I have had the honour to work with.
