Passed away on December 2, 2012 in Victoria, BC at the age of 66 years. Elaine is survived by her sister, Dianne; her sons, Kevin and Bruce Maniel; her grandchildren, Brooke and Annastazia; nieces and nephews, Drew, Tobi, Kelli and families. Special thanks to the staff at Royal Jubiliee Hospital, the Red Cross, all nurses, staff and volunteers at the Cancer ward and all who took the time to visit Elaine in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Elaine’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

dear kevin and bruce, thank you so much for being there for your mother’s memorial service at the legion hall! it was wonderful to see so many people – just some of the groups that loved elaine.
please know she was loved by so many!!! and these are just the ones who heard about her illness. it was also gratifying to all of us who knew her to see her obituary in the newspaper – giving final closure. i know those she worked for at south victoria home support will be very saddened to see she passed away. that is where she and i met so many years ago, both being hired on the same day! i believe she also wanted her obituary in the winnipeg free press, is that the name of the paper? thanks again for all you did to pull this all together. she would have just loved it!
