Oct 29, 1918 – Dec 23, 2012

Our sweet, loving mother passed away peacefully after a long and happy life. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ben, in 1999. She leaves to mourn her children, John (Mana) of Vancouver, Alice (Art) Kool of Victoria, Hank of Sidney, Bert (Arlene) of Kelowna, and Ed (Shelley) of Edmonton; grandchildren Susanna (Germany), Sonia (Vancouver) and Kelly (Falkland).

Connie was born in Oldebroek, Holland. She married Ben in 1942 and in 1956 they immigrated to Victoria where she has lived ever since, except for a stay in Abbotsford from 2000 to 2009. Connie was a caring, loving wife and mother who made many life-long friends. She and Ben were very active members of the Christian Reformed Church and her strong faith sustained her throughout the years. She was a beautiful singer and enjoyed music all her life.

We would like to thank the very caring staff at Mount St. Mary where she was fortunate enough to spend her last three years. We also thank her very dear friend and companion, Valerie Aggelou, who enriched her days immeasurably while she was at Mount St. Mary.

Connie will be remembered in her beloved Christian Reformed Church, 661 Agnes Street in Victoria on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mount St. Mary Foundation, 861 Fairfield Rd., Victoria, BC, V8V 5A9, in Connie’s name. Condolences may be offered below.

    Dear Alice and Family,

Our mothers are finally at peace in Heaven and for that we must be grateful. If our love alone could have kept them alive, they would have lived forever.
    Thinking of you. Marilyn
