Joan Ellen (nee Harris) Buchanan died peacefully on January 31, 2013 in Victoria, BC. She was born on January 11, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta.
Predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1998; Joan is survived by her son Robert, daughter-in-law Pat, her grandchildren Lindsay and Breanna, her sister Dot, and her many nieces and nephews.
She grew up in the Pine Lake area of Alberta and after marrying Gordon, they moved to Victoria for two years prior to moving back to Calgary where they lived for fourteen years. Joan and Gordon then moved to the Okanagan in 1968 where they built two beautiful homes with horses and of course Boston Terriers (the love of her life). Joan moved to Victoria in 2006 to be closer with her family.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at McCall’s Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2 pm. A reception will follow in the McCall’s Family Centre. ln lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria SPCA.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Joan. She always has a smile and would often stop to let my child pat and play with spirit, then later on, with whoppie. She will be missed.
