Dorothy passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on February 2, 2013. She was born in Isy-coed, Wales on January 14, 1920, youngest of ten children born to Vincent Charles and Annie Ellen Williams. Dorothy worked in a munitions factory in Wrexham, Wales during WW2, where she met a handsome RCAF Pilot at a dance. She emigrated to Canada and married Willmore Eugene “Jim” Hansen on March 11, 1947 in Calgary, Alberta. After Jim’s death in 1964, Dorothy raised their three children alone and worked at several jobs ranging from selling Avon products to a comptometer operator. She moved to Victoria, BC in 1980 and retired in 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Jim); her sons, David (Barb) and Bob and her grandchildren, Michael (Kim), Steve (Kim), Brian (Shawna), Jeff (Shannon), Emily and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Eden, Emily, Logan and Tao. Dorothy was a loving, kind, hardworking and generous person, who will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank Beacon Care ladies for all their support over the past six years.
