I was saddened to read of Evelyn’s passing. She was a beautiful lady. She and my Mom, Evelyn Cooke (MacKenzie) were first cousins. We kept in touch for years.

Our friendship with Evelyn and George goes back several years. We live in Williams Lake and found our times to Victoria were few and far between but a highlight of each visit was a walk to their home from our daughter’s home in Oak Bay. We noticed a gradual deterioration in their health and our last visit was in the Heights where we found George in good spirits but dear Evelyn didn’t recognize us at all. I know George will miss his wife dearly but it would be selfish to wish her here now. May the God of comfort help to fill the void left by Evelyn’s promotion to Glory.

We have loving memories of Evelyn. She looked after our three children in the church nursery
and we appreciated her so much. She was always friendly to everyone around her and always
had a smile on her face.

May God grant you His peace at this time of her home going knowing that she is finally home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Doug and family, Judy and I would like to express our sadness at the passing of your Mum. We have both been there so have a fair understanding of the grief you are all going through. Our thoughts are of you, Phil, Rob,and Patti and their spouses, as we know you more than your sibs. Again our sincere sadness, Judy and George Bingham

David & I are saddened to hear of the passing of Evelyn. I always thought George & Evelyn were so much like my parents and I truly nought they were special. She will be rejoicing with those who have gone before. I enjoyed being able to visit them when I could get to Victoria. Please give our love to George.
