Passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 21, 2015. Predeceased by his sons, Johnny and Walter; brothers, Mija, Mata and Stevo; parents, Stjepan and Mara.
Drago was born in Careva Draga, Croatia on May 12 1935. He immigrated to Canada in 1964 where he married his wife, Mary. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Drago worked all his life in the construction industry until he retired.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; sons, Nevin and Steve; daughter-in-law Cathy, and grandchildren, Nicholas and Taya. Drago is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ana Saflin (Mija); niece, Dragica Drofenik; nephews, Zdravko Saflin and Stevo Saflin, as well as sister-in-law, Katica Saflin (Mata); niece, Ljubica Makaj and nephew, Branko Saflin.
Prayer Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29 at 7:00 pm at St. Leopold Mandic Catholic Church, 4081 Gordon Head Road, Victoria, BC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30 at 11:00 am at St. Leopold Mandic Catholic Church with interment at Royal Oak Burial Park followed by a reception.
