Marjorie passed away peacefully on January 12th surrounded by her family. Marjorie is predeceased by her husband, Bernie who passed in 2014; her brothers, George Alfred Maggs (2011) and Morley Irving Maggs (1947). She is survived by her children, Douglas (Darlene), Christine (Jim) Edwards; step-sons, Brad (Nancy), Geoffrey (Marilyn), Brian (Marian); grandchildren, Tracey, Michelle, Spencer, Nicholas, Tina, Alex, Nicole, Jessica, Brock, Brianne, Lauren and great grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Trinity, Jayden, Rilee and Finn.
Marjorie was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta but spent her formative years growing up in Victoria. During her life, she lived in Belgium, England, Ontario, Washington D.C. and Ralston, Alberta eventually returning to Victoria in 1968.
Her retirement years were spent with Bernie, boating, cruising and wintering with their motorhome in Mesa, Arizona. This caring, gentle and quick to smile woman will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be forever in our hearts.
We wish to express our thanks to Dr. W.E. Naaykens, and especially the Oak Bay Lodge staff for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.
No funeral by request and a family celebration of life will be arranged at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation.
