Peacefully passed away and went home to her Saviour on April 13, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Agua de Pau, Acores on February 19, 1936. She married Carlos in December 1958 and immigrated to Canada in 1959 and settled in Victoria. They went on to have 6 children and 21 grandchildren. Predeceased by her first born son, Carlos Albert who died at 3 days old as well as her grandbabies, Simon and Alexandra. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Carlos and her children, Carlos, Dalila (John), Linda (Rob), Almerinda, and Jeanine (Norman) and her 19 grandchildren. Known for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and strong work ethic. She exemplified true strength and courage throughout her life and especially as she fought her illness. “A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.” Eccl. 7:1.
Viewing at McCall’s Funeral Home, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Friday, April 22nd from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The funeral service will be held at Oaklands Bible Chapel, 2736 Fernwood, on Saturday, April 23 at 12:30 followed by interment at Royal Oak Burial Park. Reception to follow at Oaklands Bible Chapel at 4:00.
