Arturo Colangeli, 92, of Victoria, BC, passed away on May 11th, 2016, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Arturo was born in Navelli, Italy on September 24th, 1923. He was married to Rosa (Santucci) Colangeli on May 14th, 1955; they were married for almost 61 years. Arturo worked as a gold miner in Timmins, Ontario, then a concrete finisher for Alcan in Kitimat, BC and finally for the City of Victoria. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, watching hockey and going to the gym.
Arturo was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Rosa; his two children, Anna Colangeli (Michael Decker) and Dino Colangeli (Karen); his five grandchildren, Michelle Decker, Kandace St Jean (Robin), Tristan Colangeli (Chelsea Burdge), Jessica Decker and Adrian Colangeli (Paige Gardner); and his two great-grandchildren, Kallie and Lindyn as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 6:30 until 8:30pm on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 at McCall Bros. Funeral Home, Vancouver & Johnson Sts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 4049 Gordon Head Rd; Fr. William Hann to officiate. Burial will follow at Royal Oak Burial Park at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Red Cross, 909 Fairfield Road Victoria, BC, V8V 3A3.
