The next 14 years meeting new friends, playing bridge, enjoying jazz and her great granchildren, 3 of whom grew up just down the street in Victoria. Rinda was a great support to all her kids and we will miss her very very much.

She is survived by her two children: Richard James Bisset of Singapore and Janet Lynne Bisset of Vancouver, British Columbia; her four grandchildren: Philip Bisset-Covaneiro (Carly), Benjamin James Bisset (Gillian), Markus Covaneiro (Danielle), Angela Louise Bisset and her four great-grandchildren: Taya, Alyssa, Malyna, Luca.

The family would like to thank Rinda’s many friends and relatives for their kind sentiments, heart-felt actions, and warm encouragements over the past few weeks. We very much appreciate your thoughts. It is obvious that Rinda made a positive impression on everyone she spent time with.

Rinda was a formidable card player, and a worthy opponent. She discovered WIZARD in her latter life, and always sat down at the table with a twinkle in her eyes and a curl in her lip, as if to say “this game is Mine”!!! As a result, I always felt that I was sitting across from someone who would bring out the best in me. She will be missed.

I’d like to tell all of you who wrote here just how much it means to me. You see, it only took 1 time for you to write a memory of mom or a condolence to our family, but I am able to go back over the next year, many many times (I have already) and read over and over again how special that woman I called mother all my life was to all of you, too.

    Dear Family of Rinda…

We were in the midst of sending Rinda our Christmas card and happened upon your obituary.
Having lost my Mother earlier this year, I have a special empathy with you.

I would like to add that I knew, and loved, your Mother all of the years in my first career with Aronovitch & Leipsic. I remember clearly my first years as a young, rather impudent young man, working as Office Manager. I needed to learn humility in working with the staff, and Rinda was there to mentor me in the kindest way possible. She had the unique gift and ability to relate with anyone in a positive way, and form an instant alliance and friendship. I also remember when she befriended Jim Robb, and that romance, which began with a friendship, only served to add significantly to both of their lives. Certainly, as my boss, it made my working with Jim so much easier.

Know in your hearts that Rinda was undeniably one of the sweetest and most generous people I have ever known. I will remember her in that vein.

    Be well,
    Claus Janzen

I am so sorry to hear your news. Your mum was a great example to me of how to behave, with a wonderful sense of decorum. I loved how she carried herself, which she did with style and flourish. I knew her as a kind, considerate and graceful lady who enriched the lives of those around her. My condolences to all her family in your time of sadness.

Love you so much Grandma 🙂 we will always think of you and remember you. You have been such an incredible woman to have as a role model for our daughters, and we are so grateful for the precious memories and amazing times that you spent with them!!!

Rinda Robb, was one of the strongest women I have ever known!! She cared for everyone around her, and made such time for her friends and family, near and far. I still cannot imagine how she was able to stay in touch with so many people no matter where in the world they lived. She truly loved family and friends above all else.

Thank you for the gifts you have passed along to me grandma, I will miss you so much.

    Your Eldest Grandson – Philip

She was so kind and supportive right until the end. My son Luca being able to meet her and be hugged by her in those last days is a memory I will all keep close to my heart. She was the inspiration for my cooking career and guided a large part of my life. Love you always Grandma and am happy you are no longer in pain.

  • Toni Blodgett

Rinda came to be known to me through both bridge and jazz when she came to our band’s events at Hermann’s Jazz Club. She hated that her health did not permit her to be there in recent times and I missed her wonderful energy and sharp mind! Such a lovely person -I’m grateful to have known her even for this limited amount of time. So sorry to learn of her passing which seems far too soon, sadly.

  • Janet Von Siemens and family

Rinda has always been in my life. We shared many special times with many laughs. I will miss her more than I can say. I’m grateful that fate allowed me to see her one final time shortly before she passed. Bless you Jan and family. I will think of her often. ❤️

  • Shirley

Dear Rinda was a second mom to me for my teen years and after. I have the fondest of memories of countless evenings spent laughing while eating spaghetti, playing canasta and drinking Nono’s wine. She became great friends with my parents Audrey and Bryson Murray, travelling to Europe together and dancing the night away on many occasions.
You’ll be missed Rinda. You’ve left a wonderful legacy in your beautiful family.

  • Peter
