It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Joseph Richard Schembri. Born in Malta on February 20th, 1930, he passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Emelyn Schembri (Palencia) and his four daughters, Connie Kayter (Rob), Shelley Jacques (Bob), Susan Schenkers (Mike), Denise Kimoto (Bob); eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; Tibor, Lorlina and Eric Szabo Porfevio Jr.; MaryGrace, Jay-ar, Evelyn Gay, Jayson, Jewel and Ma. Lourdes Paencia. He was predeceased by his only son, Joey Schembri.
Visitation will be held at McCall Gardens in Royal Oak, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2016 at Our Lady of the Rosary, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall, 798 Goldstream Avenue in Langford, BC.

From us in #7 . So sorry Emmilyn and family. Didn’t know Joe that well except we shared the same bit of ground here in the townhouses and saw Joe a lot walking his little dog. They will see each other now. A very nice man.
