We know this is very late in coming to the family of Walter but we just found out about his death. Walter and Bozeno were neighbours of ours on Old East Road. We had several neighbourhood get-togethers over the years. We were shocked to hear of Walter’s passing as when we last saw him, he was going to contact us when they got settled in their new place. Life went by and we were thinking about them and so thought we would try and contact them to see how they were doing. We have very fond memories of Walter – down to earth guy with a great smile. He and Bozeno were very hard workers and a pleasure to have as neighbours. We missed them after they moved. We are wondering if Bozeno has remained in Victoria or perhaps moved back to Poland. Perhaps someone can let us know. Thank you. Our heartfelt sympathy to Bozeno and his children. We know he will be missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Walter’s passing. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with Walter in his position at Camosun College. He would come by Biology now and then to competently take care of maintenance issues that would arise, always came by with a warm smile and a kind heart. He was a “beam” of sunshine and will be missed.

I send my warmest sympathies to Walter’s family during this difficult time

Dear Bozena We so fondly remember you and your dear husband Walter way back in 2005, when you were creating such wonderful meals at your Polish Restaurant in Sidney. Walter was always such a warm host, generous and welcoming, and he always remembered his guests. The two of you were such a loving couple, such a team. Our family celebrated our Mom’s 90th Birthday at your lovely restaurant, Mom having chosen it as her favourite place to eat. Walter’s big smile in the picture in the newspaper brought back many happy memories of both of you. Bozena and family, your dear Walter will be remembered with great appreciation, and our caring thoughts are with you at this sad time. from Diane Taylor, and the Ames Family

Śmierć stawia nas w obliczu bezsilności,
która nas obezwładnia i zabiera w nieznane.
A kiedy pojawia się kradnąc ukochaną osobę,
przeszywa serce bólem i odznacza w nim swoje piętno,
które przypomina nam stale jacy jesteśmy wobec niej bezsilni.

Wyrazy naszego najszczerszego żalu i współczucia dla calej Rodziny z powodu tragicznej śmierci Wladka.

May care and love of those around you provide comford and peace to get you through the days ahead. Our most sincere condolences.

My heart goes out to all of you for the loss of a truly a good man. I had the privilege of working with Walter for many years at Camosun. He was my “go to guy” for everything! When we later became neighbours, he would often catch a ride with me to work, where he would share stories about his amazing life, offer his opinion on any and all subject matter and gave out advise that I even occasionally followed. He loved his family above all else and spoke with pride about all of you. I will miss his mischievous smile and the twinkle in his eyes. May you rest in peace Walter, my friend.
