On Saturday, June 7th Doug Parsons suddenly and unexpectedly left this world for his Heavenly Home. He is now singing for his Lord and Saviour. Doug will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Phil of 55 years, daughter Patti (Garrit), son Rob (Tach), grandsons Zach and Kaiden and brothers George, David and Bruce. A small family gathering has been held to honour and celebrate the life of our devoted husband, Dad, Grandpa, brother and friend. The family takes comfort in knowing that they will “meet again on that beautiful shore”.

Donations in Doug’s honour can be made to Covenant House or Camp Imadene.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am so sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. He was the Mayor of our street. He was always kind and helpful. I relied on his keen eye and care. Phil, I am sorry for your loss. J

To George and Douglas’s family, It was with great sadness I learned today of Doug’s passing. I remember with fondness the memories of playing together at your home or in our basement. I will be thinking of you.

I had known Doug, since minor hockey days, with our boys. I played hockey with Doug, and the Central Baptist crew. Doug was one of the goaltenders. Doug was always a positive guy and one to count on! Our thoughts are with your family, at this sad time. George Bingham PS I think the hockey group, caused Paul’s Crown House, to start charging for gravy, with the French fries. Every Friday night, after hockey, it was off to Paul’s.

Our thoughts are with you, Phil and your family. Doug was a good neighbour . He always had time to stop and chat. Luckily, he was often out cutting his front lawn, so it was easy speak with him. He always knew how other families were doing. We have known your family for over 45 years. A lot of things have changed but not good neighbours! Nancy and Dave Hodgson
