…spent her last hours surrounded by loved ones, with Bryn Terfel and John Michael Talbot playing quietly in the background. The second of nine siblings, “Grace” (as she was called by her nearest and dearest) spent her childhood in heavily bombed Swansea, moved to London to work for the civil service at the age of sixteen, followed her beloved Keith to Hong Kong at the age of twenty, and came back to Britain and subsequently immigrated to Canada before her twenties were out. She was a sensitive and poetic soul, moved by avenues of green trees and sunlight shining on the water. There isn’t a time her children remember when her heart or home were closed, and if prayer was your requirement, she was your warrior. In her last week on earth, her only lament was that she was too weak to be of service to others.
She lived her life in faith and died in corresponding peace, embraced in the “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” she’d known since the age of thirteen. She took that final breath in a moment when no one was looking, probably because she didn’t want to make a fuss. Her loving husband Keith preceded her through that curtain, but she is survived by Melinda (Mike), Mark (Hetty) and Julia (Brent); thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her younger siblings Sybil (Keith), Andrea, Julian (Claudia) and Monica. It was a privilege to sit vigil with her as she sank into the sleep from which there is no return. She was the dearest example to us of grace and constancy and a generous heart.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:30 pm, August 8, Saanichton Bible Fellowship, 2159 Mount Newton Cross Road, Saanichton BC.

Paul and Marge Anderson Rosemary was a beautiful Godly lady who we have known some 40 years now. We have enjoyed many happy family times over the years with Keith and Rosemary and our love and prayers are with Melinda, Mark and Julia and your families as you grieve the loss of your Mum and look forward to seeing her and your Dad again in heaven.
-
Gareth & Anne Evans We have such warm memories of Rosemary and Keith. Our common background was in Swansea, not known until the Lord brought us toogether, firstly with Keith in Montreal and later with both after their arrival in Victoria. Thank you Lord, for the many happy hours we enjoyed together.
-

Lois Mason I will remember your Mom always for her grace and warmth. She had a ready smile whenever we talked and her abiding faith shone through in all she said and did. We are thinking of you all now and sending love as I’m unable to attend the celebration of her wonderful life on Friday.

Nicola , Michael and Jennifer We send our condolences to all of you. Mum,Jennifer, has many memories of her 9 cousins living next door to her and Cynthia in Swansea and fond memories of Grace. I know they were so upset when they left to start a new life in Canada.
There were a few visits over the years and mum has been recalling the wonderful holiday she had in Canada. Sending our love

Richard Bowler I am so very grateful for my Aunty Grace. Like a glorious established tree or a fine Victorian mansion or a favourite piece of classical music, she was a source of goodness and blessing in one’s life, something that made you smile and feel good about the world. I am glad that she is free from the rigours of old age and experiencing her eternal reward for being such a loving and faithful light in our lives and servant of the Lord.

Brenda Anderson I loved Auntie Rose fiercely. She always had a cup of tea ready and a listening ear. She never quite knew what to do with me, but I know she loved me dearly and prayed for me. What a wonderful woman of God. A true inspiration. My heart is breaking for you all right now.

Andrea Wedge My dear sister Gracie was one of the most beautiful souls that God ever created! Her heart was full of love for everyone she encountered and she never had a negative word to say about anyone. She will be sadly missed by her family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a great sense of humour and could be relied upon to boost up one’s spirits.
Grace was very blessed to have her three children and their families catering to her right up to the moment that God took her home. She was much loved and will be missed by all!

Harry & Kerry Janzen The most beautiful soul and servant of Jesus. She blessed everyone she came in contact with. She is missed. Much love to Melinda, Mark and Julia as you remember your dear mum.

Mark, Julia, Melinda and families
We just heard about your Mom’s passing the other day. Our deepest condolences, love and prayers for the entire family. Both of your parents were incredible people who planted seeds, grew those seeds of faith and, for me, helped to teach me how to love all those God places in our lives and be a walking testimony for God. Every time we visited Victoria and SBF when we came home on furlough, your Mom always took the time for us and always gave me such special hugs that I felt her love deep to my heart. My life is better and closer to God because of the influences and examples of both of your parents.
