Our loving wife, mom, and grandma passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years on July 31, 2025 at the Summit at Quadra Senior Home in Victoria, British Columbia.  Our dear mom always gave so much of herself and asked for so little.  She has gifted us with so many memories of her taking care of us and spending time with her sons, daughters, grandchildren and great granddaughter who were so dear to her heart and central being. Florence’s life was spent being an incredible mom and grandma.  In her later years, she was an avid gardener and volunteered at the Nanaimo General Hospital gift store for 26 years as well as at the hospital’s fundraising thrift store for many years.

Florence Mary was born in McLean, SK on November 19, 1934 to parents Joseph and Viola Weist.  She is survived by her loving family: sons Randy Duncan and Mark Duncan; daughters Kimberley (Mark) Herrenkohl and Stacey (Mark) Ainsworth; beloved grandchildren Justin, Kelsey, May, Duncan, Corilee, Easton, Sierra and Caeden; and great granddaughter Evelyn.  Florence is predeceased by her parents and she was the last surviving member of her 12 siblings: John, Elizabeth (Beth), Harold, Margaret, Roy, Mirle, Cecil, Ethel, Marlene and Jerry.

Thank you to all the wonderful, caring staff at the Summit at Quadra, most especially the incredible caregivers on the Blue Jay House floor!

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society may be tokens of remembrance.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

What a beautiful soul finally at peace. I can still hear her very distinctive voice! They say we forget what our loved ones sounded like but I don’t think I’ll ever forget her voice. My condolences to all of you on your great loss, may time and precious memories replace your grief eventually.

Auntie Flo was an amazing lady. She was a kind and beautiful soul. Growing up I have such fond memories of her, especially the summers when your family would come to Regina. Our deepest condolences from our family.
