With great spunk and Joie de Vivre our beautiful Polly is on to her next adventure.  Predeceased by her parents Ronald Lyle Bourdon, Madelyn Teresa Darragh and her dear grandmother Mary Evelyn Sherry Darragh.

She will be forever loved and cherished by her daughters, Devan (Craig), Lauren (Nick), and her precious granddaughter Ireland.

She leaves her loving sisters, Carol (Yves), Nancy (François) and Marie (late David); nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and her dear Uncle Herb Darragh (Pincher Creek, Alberta).

Pauline grew up in southern Quebec where she spent the first 56 years of her life; 33 of those shared with her former spouse and cherished friend Larry. There they raised their family on a dairy farm in St. Bernard-de-Lacolle.

In retirement, Pauline’s childhood dream was always to venture West, bringing her to Victoria, BC where she enjoyed the last seven years of her life taking in its beauty. Her daughters, their partners and her grandchild enjoyed numerous visits while embracing her passion for Vancouver Island. This was the cherry that topped her beautiful life!

Pauline enjoyed working part time at W & J Wilson in Victoria which gave her an opportunity to immerse herself in the every day life of islanders. Our Polly enjoyed these past years travelling abroad and weekend adventures up island with her dear friend Tony.

In her final months, Pauline was lovingly surrounded, supported and cared for by her daughter’s Devan and Lauren as well as by her amazing “Posse”of friends: Anne, Melanie, Julie, Debbie, Leslie & Nick, Lonni, Michael & Gladdie, Helena, Teresa, Larry, Craigy, Barbara & Mike, Paul & Jeanne, Annie, Carrie, Grace & Dan, Lana, Heather, Kelly & Tom, Darren, Darnell, Odette, Derek & Simone, Marie & Joe, Antony, Jemma (Inspire Health) and her dear granddaughter Ireland and so many more angels…

It was more important to our Mother that we acknowledge her “Posse” of dear friends than recount her life. “I’ve lived a full life, my story is complete, and these beautiful people carried me through to my blissful departure and for that I have been blessed and am grateful “.

Our Polly was treated with compassion from the very beginning of her diagnosis. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Gregory Simon Rideout who was an amazing support to our mother. The Palliative and Hospice Response Team honoured and respected her every wish. Her Spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her!

Funeral arrangements are in the care of McCall Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass to be held at St. Andrews Catholic Cathedral, Victoria BC. on Thursday, August 28th, 2025 at 12 noon.

Pauline’s wish was that Donations may be made to the following organizations:

VictoriaHospice.org (Hospice Palliative Response Team)

InspireHealth.ca (Cancer Care) Victoria, BC.

Final resting place, St. Romain Catholic Church Cemetery, Hemmingford, Quebec and wherever the Wind will take her.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
