Dorothy Elizabeth Ash passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the Royal Jubilee Hospice in Victoria, BC, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Ernest and Lillian Johnson, Dorothy grew up surrounded by her six sisters and one brother. She spent her early years in Wilkie before moving to Victoria, where she met the love of her life, Alan Cecil Ash. From the moment they met, they were inseparable and shared 43 wonderful years of marriage.
Dorothy was the heart of her family, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children, Charlotte, Bradley (Cheryl), Tanya (Ian), and James (Sheena); grandchildren, Justin (Bryanne), Gavin (Carmen), Shayla (Kyle), Matthew, Marissa, Maximus, and Alexia; and great grandchildren, Graecia, Riot, Avery, Alexandria, Paeton, Kian, Marco, and Victoria.
She worked for more than 30 years at Shoppers Drug Mart, where she made many friends and lasting memories. Later, she followed her passion for aromatherapy, opening Oaklands Aromatherapy, where she loved helping others and making them feel cared for.
Dorothy will be remembered for her strength, unconditional love, and deep devotion to family. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Alan, her parents, Ernest and Lillian, and her mother-in-law, Edith.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17, at 1:00 pm at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. Donations may be made to the Royal Jubilee Hospice.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
