On October 10, 2025, Charlie passed away peacefully surrounded by family after an 8-year fight with cancer. Born in Kromeriz, Czech Republic, he moved to Canada in 1968 with his parents and 1 suitcase, fleeing war: full of stories from an incredible life. A skilled electrician and renowned builder, crafting over 20 homes in Greater Victoria. An adventurous, hard working, outdoorsman – hiking, fishing, traveling and skiing even while battling cancer. He left behind his wife of 44 years, Vanessa; children, Jay (Jessica), Kyle (Ashley), and Chelsie (George); 7 cherished grandchildren; sisters, Jarmila Werbick and Bohumila Kerjcirik, and countless others. The definition of young at heart, he will be deeply missed.
Join us to celebrate his life on Sunday, October 26th at 2:00pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC V8Y 1B4.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Roy Morris I worked with Charlie at HJ Langdon Electric in 1974/75 when we were both apprentices. He had been through a lot in his young life by this time but was remarkably positive about his future in Canada. His hard work and dedication resulted in success in business and a family to be proud of. It’s been many years since we met in person but ironically a friend of mine took a call from Charlie in my presence about a year ago and we had a quick chat. A good guy gone too soon. Rest in peace.

Ken Yvorchuk On behalf of my wife and I, we send our deepest condolences to the Velikovsky Family in remembrance of a craftsman as expert in his many endeavours as he was an enthusiastic storyteller and outdoorsman. His timely skill in managing our multiple requests was as appreciated as his entertaining bonhommie. He will be sorely missed.

Susan Coleman We met Charlie through his work as an electrician on many of the homes we built in Victoria over the decades.
Along with his knowledge he brought a sense of humour to the job site as well as some great stories of his numerous and varied adventures and, I believe, most of them were even true!
We lost touch in the past few years but were so very blessed to have chatted with him at the Care Awards two weeks ago. He still had a positive attitude and his usual impish grin on his face. How could we have known it would be our last goodbye?
Our heartfelt condolences to Vanessa and family. He was one of the good ones and left this earth way too soon.

Rob Roy As one of the long-term employees at Graphic FX, I got know Charlie on a personal level over the years because he always took the time to stop by my office and chat whenever he was visiting Jay or doing work for the company. My impressions of him were that he loved people and always radiated positive energy, and it was always a pleasure to share stories and catch up. My heartfelt condolences to the family for their loss.
