Stewart Johnston I encountered Steve from time to time over the years and always came away with a warm feeling about our interaction. Of course, I enjoyed his broadcasts. I was saddened to learn of his passing. One of the planet’s really good people.

Ian Yates In a business full of egos and entitlement, what a pleasure it was to work with Steve at CKDA and CFMS. Genuine human being through and through, as well as being a top notch broadcaster. I consider myself very fortunate to have shared the airwaves with Steve, to have sat next to him in the press box, or just having spent time grabbing a coffee to lament being Canucks fans. I know he would agree when I say that every man should be so lucky to have the unwavering support that Sue gave. My sincere condolences to Sue and their family. Duff, it was a privilege.

Cliff LeQuesne Steve loved covering sports and news in the community. He was a true professional. I always enjoyed talking with him at games and was pleased to have him join us the Q! Newsroom before moving to C-FAX.
Our careers went over a similar path. When we started is was a different time. Some call it the “Golden Era” of radio.
Steve’s legacy in this area is simple: A true broadcast professional who was also a very good person. It was a pleasure to share so many great times with him. And Susan … I saw your messages. A loving and caring wife. My condolences.

Gary Wheeler I had the honour and privilege of working with Steve in the newsroom of CKDA / CFMS in the early to mid 1990s. A great sports broadcaster and an even better person. Always kind and generous with his time. My condolences to his family and all the people he connected with.

Leoa Clark Steve was a wonderful man. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting about sports with him at all the games. If I ever had a question about any sport, I knew he would have the answer for me. Treasure his memory as all those who were lucky enough to know him will do. My thoughts and prayers are with Susan, Jordan, and Shannon.

I was so sad to hear of Steve’s passing. He was so welcoming when I was brought on by CFAX. He made me feel like I was part of the family. That was his way, a warm, encouraging guy who could diffuse any situation with humour. Steve was the consummate professional, hard working, giving his time and support to others. He was so proud of his family and talked about them often. Steve was a genuinely good man. My sincere condolences to Sue and the entire family.
