Rick was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1944, and passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 81. After a lengthy illness, he got his final wish of being in his own home with his wife and daughter by his side when he passed. His family is very grateful for the exemplary care that he received from the team of caregivers at Vancouver Island Health Authority.
Rick spent his career as a Customs House Broker in Los Angeles and retired to North Saanich with his wife Eileen in 2011. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, his son David (Deep) in Los Angeles CA, his stepdaughter Erin (Adam) in Portland OR, and their families. He cherished his life in Canada, along with everyone in it, particularly friends John and Helen and his community of Dean Park.
He will be missed by his friends and family, especially his granddaughter Hazel, whom he loved dearly.
No service by request but a Celebration of Life will be held at later date.

John A Greaves Helen and I are so deeply sorry for your loss. Rick was a wonderful friend, and we’ve truly enjoyed knowing him ever since the two of you became a couple. We cherish the many memories and the fun we had traveling through life together. Rick always faced life head-on and accepted whatever came his way. We take comfort in knowing he passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
