As a passionate traveler Pamela completed her final journey on April 10th surrounded by her loving family. She put up a strong fight against hideous cancer. She became Tenacious P. Sadly in the end she said it was time to put aside her pain and suffering and chose to leave on her terms. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Pam was a transplant from back east having been born in Saint John, NB and moved to Victoria when she was a young girl. She had a rich and full life that really was divided into 5 phases. Phase I commenced   as she graduated from Camosun College as an LPN and nursed for a time in northern BC and then she came back to Victoria. In Victoria she became a medical office assistant and worked for several doctors as an MOA. She had a chance meeting with her future husband Jeffrey which turned into a whirlwind courtship and marriage. That led to the second phase of her life. After a number of years of being an MOA she decided it was time to raise a family. With the birth of her first child Olivia; she became a full-time mother. A few years later her second child, Galen, came into our lives. A large part of the late eighties and early nineties was spent raising a family. As both children got older and were in school full time, Pamela entered the third phase of her life she became a home cosmetics salesperson – an Avon lady. She was a remarkably successful salesperson and won trips to Costa Rica, San Juan PR, Arizona, Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic.

The next chapter of her life started when she cut back on Avon and Jeffrey retired. This was where she became an avid traveler. She had the knack to find out of the way attractions and wonderful places to stay. She started writing and documented many of the trips in a humorous way, poking fun at her helpless husband on many occasions. She has written witty and informative blogs about trips to Ireland, Scotland, England, Greece, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.

Her concluding chapter began when she contracted her cancer. Although many of her previous enjoyments such as travelling, swimming and hiking had to be curtailed. She sought pleasure in simple things like nature, walks in the woods and visiting with special friends. From this she became an accomplished poet and although her “songbook” is short her poems expressed her feelings and sentiments and showed a depth of insight to her new world.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Jeffrey, her daughter Olivia and partner Anthony, son Galen, her big brother Stephen and wife Lori-Lee, brother-in-law Terry and wife Deborah and brother-in-Law Francis. In addition, she has several cousins in Victoria and scattered back east.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
