It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Kenneth Baber on April 5, 2026, in Taiwan at the age of 51, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Andrew was born in Victoria, BC, and grew up in the Saanich area. He attended Spectrum High School before continuing his education at Royal Roads University and the University of British Columbia.
Following university, Andrew travelled to Taiwan to teach English, a journey that became a lifelong chapter. He made Taiwan his home, building a life and friendships.
Andrew had a love of hockey from a young age, playing in Saanich and the Cowichan Valley, and he continued to enjoy the sport while living abroad. A devoted fan of the Edmonton Oilers, he followed his team with pride and enthusiasm.
Andrew will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his sense of humour, and his ability to connect with people wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, both in Canada and Taiwan.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Suzie, son Ross of Taiwan; mother, Lynn Baber of Victoria; his sister Lori Birk, her husband Cale, cousins Paige and Kate, all of Kamloops; his stepmother Terri; and stepsiblings Angie and Jordie and families.
Andrew was predeceased by his father, Ken Baber of Prince George.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McCall Gardens, Sequoia Centre, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of Andrew Kenneth Baber, as we share memories, stories, and laughter while honoring Andrew’s life and the impact he had on so many people. All who knew and loved Andrew are welcome.
