Donna was a lifelong resident of Victoria, her presence touching many over the decades. She was an excellent wife and mother, whose love was clearly expressed through food she prepared. An incredible cook, Donna’s love language was, without doubt, food — nourishing others was her way of caring, comforting, and bringing people together. She was also a proud member of Victoria’s Hellenic community, where her heritage, traditions, and friendships were a cherished part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Sonny Vickery; and by her children Rick (Sheila), Marguerite (Dave), Frank (Corine), and Tony (Alison). She is also lovingly remembered by grandchildren Christina (Mark), Heather (Kevin), Tanya (Darcy), Emily (Kyle), Brandon (Yuna), Alisha (Justin), Ashley (Derrick), Jennifer (Les), Alexis and Amy (Joshua); as well as great-grandchildren Hannah, Calvin, Livia, Jaxson, Veronica, Vanessa, Scott, Madi, Aubrey, and Linden.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, Millie (Zarelli) Zaferis and James Zaferis; sisters, Marguerite and Sylvia; and grandson, Rupert Croft
Many thanks to the staff of Beckley Farm Lodge who provided care to Donna during her final years.
