It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Kit-Keung Cheung, age 69, announces his passing on June 20, 2026.
Born on January 24, 1957 in Hong Kong, John came to Victoria at the age of 17 as a student and attended St. Michael’s University to build his life. Known for his youthful energy, laughter, and generosity, John approached life with a positive attitude and a warm smile. He spent most of his professional years operating a Chinese food restaurant and then as a realtor, but his true legacy is his family who he led by giving his time and endless support whenever he was needed. John will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving and playful husband, dad, brother, gong gong, ye ye, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Caroline, sister Sui-Ling, brothers Whyte (Jennifer) and Charles (Linda), his devoted children, Cynthia (Derek), Jason (Kristel), and Cameron (Jenny), his adoring grandchildren, Madison, Alexander, Gavin and Isabelle, and all of his nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Chang Yun Wing and Yeung Wai Ying and older brother Edward Cheung.
