Sharon Jean Allen, aged 83, passed away on August 8, 2026, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife to Robin, loving mother to Chris (Paola), Stephen (Janice), Ryan (Jennifer), and affectionate grandmother to Ayden, Jansen, Brodyn, Ashton, Rowan, Ava, Maximus, and Jaina. She will be dearly missed by her sister Lynda Coutts (Mike) and her niece, Amanda and nephew, Gordon.

Sharon started her career as an elementary and special education schoolteacher and, in the early years of her marriage, spent time teaching in Victoria, Delta, and Halifax. As their family grew and Robin’s Navy position moved them all over the world, she stopped teaching and focused on her family while also finding some time to work at Sears. Throughout Robin’s career, the family spent time in Ottawa, on both the West Coast and East Coast of Canada, the US, and even the UK. Through it all, Sharon kept three rambunctious young boys in line when Robin was deployed, supporting them amid all the changes: new homes, new schools, new friends, new hobbies, and new interests.

When Robin retired from active duty, they decided to make Victoria, BC their home. There, Sharon was able to focus on some of her favorite things: gardening, travel, and, of course, genealogy. She loved diving into the family’s history and making special stops on their travels to continue her sleuthing. She was very artistic, enjoying art including ceramics, brass rubbings, stained glass, and tole painting. She was a strong woman who, on one occasion, stopped a train in Italy with her whistle! Sharon was known for her kind and supportive nature; she always made time to listen to anyone who needed to talk. She believed in people following their best path and encouraged everyone to reach their potential. She loved phone calls from her boys and her many grandkids, loved hearing about their lives and what they were up to, and was always excited to be involved and included. Sharon never missed a birthday or anniversary and always took the time to send a special card to everyone she loved.  She cherished her family, being a mom and grandmother, and was ready with open arms and big hugs whenever anyone needed them.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
