Valerie passed away peacefully June 30, 2026, following ongoing struggles with her health. Born in Wembley, Middx England, Valerie and family immigrated to Canada in 1948 and later in life living and working in the San Francisco Bay area. Eventually Valerie chose to settle in Victoria during her retirement years.
She soon met Bendt her husband to be in 1990 beginning a new shared life together. Some snow birding and travels to Europe were welcome endeavours. Valerie lost Bendt to cancer in 2016.
Valerie is survived by her niece Deen, stepson Ben and his wife Madeleine.
We want to extend our thanks to all the care-staff, doctors and nurses from VGH, Jubilee, the Gorge, Aberdeen Care, paramedics and to the Renaissance Independent Living for providing all their assistance in supporting Valerie’s last years.
