It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Alan “Al” Zboyovsky on August 23, 2026.
Al passed peacefully at the age of 81, with his family by his side. He was born at Duncan Hospital on April 25, 1945, to Joseph and Lena Zboyovsky (Aquino).
Al was predeceased by his loving wife, Susan Zboyovsky (Soule), and his siblings Josephine, Rose, and Andy. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren: Trevor (Chelsea, Madi, and Kaycee), Cindy (Paige and Davey), and Tina (Evan and Nathan); his brother Gerald; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Throughout his life, Al held many different jobs and was never afraid of hard work. In his younger years, he lived in a logging camp in Caycuse and worked in the logging industry for Butlers. He also worked at the Victoria Plywood Mill and proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Colwood. He spent the majority of his career with the City of Colwood Public Works Department, where he worked for 35 years.
Al loved spending time with his family and friends and could often be found cheering on his children and grandchildren at their baseball games. He enjoyed working in his garden, collecting Elvis memorabilia, and, perhaps most of all, making everyone around him laugh with his quick wit and unforgettable one-liners.
A dedicated member of his community, Al shared his love of sports by coaching youth baseball and soccer. His generosity, sense of humour, and commitment to his community touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al’s memory to the Colwood Firehall.
A Memorial Service & Reception will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
