How Preplanning Works at McCall Gardens
Step 1: A Conversation
Your first meeting with MarLisa is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You’ll talk about what matters to you, what you want (or don’t want), and any questions you have.
Most meetings last 60 to 90 minutes.
You can meet in person at our office or by phone. You are not required to sign anything unless you choose to.

Step 2: Your Plan
After your conversation, MarLisa helps you build a written plan including:
- Service preferences (burial or cremation, ceremony type, location)
- Personal details (vital statistics and biography)
- Merchandise selections if you choose to make them now
- Specific requests such as music, readings, or officiants
You can be as detailed or as simple as you want.
Step 3: Funding (Optional)
You do not need to fund your plan to have one on file.
When you choose to fund, options include:
- Pay in full at today’s guaranteed prices
- Monthly payments over 3, 5, or 10 years
- Insurance or trust-based funding depending on your situation
All prepaid funds are held in insurance or trust accounts outside McCall Gardens and regulated under BC legislation.
Step 4: Peace of Mind
Once complete, your plan is securely stored and you receive:
- A printed copy of your full plan
- A wallet card noting arrangements are on file
- Ongoing access for updates or changes anytime
When the time comes, your family contacts us and we carry out your wishes exactly as recorded.
