Jane passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Gordon and Annie Morrison, Jane married George Bosworth in February 1959. They shared 28 loving years together before his passing in October 1987. Jane went on to become an extraordinary Mum, Granny, and Great-Granny to her four sons — Gordon, George, Gavin, and Nigel — and to 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who all carry a piece of her with them.
At 65, Jane did something remarkable: she left Scotland and joined family in Victoria, British Columbia. She embraced Canada — new friends through Cadboro Bay United Church, walking groups, and painting classes; road trips across Western Canada; even a trip to China at 78 for her granddaughter’s wedding. Jane never met a stranger. She loved a good chat, and she had a gift for making people feel like old friends within minutes.
In her last 12 years, Jane lived with dementia, and spent the remaining two plus years living at Veterians Memorial, Broadmead, where the staff cared for her with a gentleness and devotion our family will never forget. Even there, she found new friends and new moments of joy — because that was simply who she was.
From an only child in Scotland to the matriarch of a family spanning four countries, Jane built a legacy of love, warmth, and courage. Loved by so many.
