Dorothy (Dot) Roberts passed away on September 20th after a short illness. She was born in Walsall, England, on June 2nd, 1945. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies at Liverpool University, and after emigrating to Canada in 1968, continued her education by receiving a master’s degree in history from UVIC. She worked as a social worker in several positions, most notably at Oak Bay Lodge, before retirement. She was an avid artist, producing many Chinese brush paintings. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Frank, her sister Margaret, children Anne and Michael, and grandchildren Kenyon and Tobias. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
There will be a celebration of her life in October. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to Goward House would be appreciated.

Dot was an effervescent and fun-loving contributor over many years to two of our Chinese brush painting groups in Victoria. She eagerly participated in activities and events, and always brought laughter and good spirits to the art room as well as tea time. We will miss her very much. Sending condolences to her family.
