LOW, Wah Doc (Wally), born in Sun Wai, Gwong Tung, China, March 20, 1931, passed away peacefully in his sleep to be with our Lord Jesus, on the morning of September 21, 2026, at the age of 95. Predeceased by his wife and lifetime companion, Yuet Ying (Anna), and precious granddaughter, Sabrina. Wally is survived by his children, Frank (Linda K.), Jackson (Geraldine), and Linda; he will be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren, Kristen, Bretton (Emily), and Tyler; as well as great grandchildren, Easton and Olivia. Wally is also survived by family in Hong Kong, China, Australia, New Zealand and other parts of Canada.
First immigrating to Canada in 1952, he returned to Hong Kong for a short period in 1958, getting married and moving back to Victoria, BC, later that year. Working at various jobs before joining the kitchen staff of the Union Club of BC, Wally worked for 30 years there until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Dart Coon Club, an auxiliary branch of the Chinese Freemasons, for almost his entire life in Canada.
Wally will be missed by all his family and friends, but remembered fondly for his quiet, humble, gentle and loving nature. Special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and health care aids on the 6th floor North Tower of Victoria General Hospital, who looked after Wally until his passing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation or the Victoria Covenant Pentecostal Church.
A Funeral Service will take place in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at the Royal Oak Burial Park next door.
