September 10, 1936 - October 13, 2026

Our Nanay passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, at the age of 90 years old.

She was the youngest of seven, born in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines. Predeceased by her parents, Valerina and Jose. Adelfa raised her three children in the Philippines before moving to Canada. In 1984, Adelfa and her daughters, Rose and Luisa moved to Victoria to join her eldest, Jossie.

Adelfa was a member of the Victoria Filipino Canadian Seniors’ Association, where she formed many cherished friendships. Some of her favourite memories were Filipino folk dancing, and travelling with her friends and loved ones.
Nanay had a passion for cooking, and always showed her love through her home-cooked meals for everyone, especially her family.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters: Jossie (the late Gordon), Rose (Greg), and Luisa (Jun); grandchildren: John, Alex, Christine (Giona), Nina, Gretchen (Yel), Chay, Weibel (Cinthia), Julia, Marissa; great-grandchildren: Malakai, Kalani, Ennio, and Alma; nephew, Lito (Jojie); and grandniece, Jonalyn (Eric), as well as extended family members from the Philippines, USA, and Australia.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Selkirk Seniors Village for their compassionate care.
