August 30, 1921 – July 13, 2009

Sadly and unexpectedly, Mom was carried to her Lord on angels’ wings. The whole of Mom’s life was focused on her family. She loved to laugh and had no hesitation in laughing at herself. Mom loved and will be missed by her children Russ, Pat, Barb Alexander, Mick, Keri and Kate. Also by her grandchildren Heather (Darren), Lara, Tara, Jordan and Morgan and her great-grandchildren Rowan, Tristan, Kerry, Graeme and Sean.

Mom had a tender place in her heart for all animals and embraced the menagerie of pets that “followed us home”. Her Yorkie, “Sarah”, was her constant companion and the source of so much comfort.

Rejoining loved ones who have gone before she is with her Lord. Beautiful inside and out, Mom you are forever our guardian angel.

Mom’s memory will be celebrated at a prayer vigil Thursday, July 16th at 7 p.m. at McCall Bros. Funeral Home, Johnson & Vancouver Streets as well as at a church service and mass Friday, July 17th at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St., Victoria, BC. Courtyard reception at the church will follow.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in support of Anawim House c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

    Mary will be missed.
I have known for as long as I was involved with the management of The Oakwood. I remember her fondly and we had a unique relationship.
May the Lord of the Resurrection comfort and guide you now Mary has gone to be with her Lord.
May you all receive peace of heart and mind.
It is a blessing she did not have to suffer at the end of her earthly life.
My sincerest condolence to all family members.
    Gerald

Our sympathies go out to the Woods Family. Mary was a good person to us all. Grandpa often talked about having had conversations with her, & was kept up to date on the rest of the family. Find comfort that our thoughts are with you at this time.
