Anna died peacefully August 6, 2012, in her 81st year. A devoted daughter and sister, she is survived by her sister, Carol and numerous cousins. She was a member of a pioneer family, her great-grandfather, Captain Henry Wootton having arrived in Victoria in 1859. She followed her grandfather, Edward and her father, Robert in a career in law. Anna practiced with her father until he was appointed to the BC Supreme Court in 1961. She then joined the law firm of Pearlman Lindholm where she practised for many years and before retiring, she returned to independent practice in the Central Building. Anna was a talented amateur actress and was active with the UBC Players Club in the 1950s. With a strong social conscience, Anna supported the Anglican Primate’s World Relief Fund and Women In Need in Victoria. Donations to either of these charities will be welcome.

A service will be held in St. Matthias Anglican Church, 600 Richmond Avenue, Friday, August 17 at 3:00 pm. Condolences may be offered below.

  • CISV Victoria

To Anna’s family and friends, the CISV Victoria chapter offers its deepest sympathies. Anna was one of our chapter’s founders and in the 1960s she served on our Executive, including as President. She left a legacy on which the chapter (formerly Children’s International Summer Villages) continues to build today; we are so grateful for her contributions and will fondly remember them.

    Our thoughts are with you.

  • Earl Ham

My family joins me in offering our most sincere sympathy to Carol and other members of Anna’s family. Anna and Carol were longtime customers of our small store, Fflocks Bird Supply, and we came to know them in their lovely home as well. Our thoughts are with you.

  • Sam and June Macey

Our sincere condolences to Carol and the family of Anna. We have fond memories of Anna and Carol from Sam’s university days.

  • The Marshall Family

We are so sorry for the loss of Anna. She led a remarkable life. Carol, we are all thinking of you at this sad time.
