Of Victoria died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Victoria Royal Jubilee Hospital peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Victoria May 10, 1938, Alex is predeceased by his mother, Myrtle; father, Ferguson; brother, Gordon (Lynn) and their daughter, Wendy. Alex leaves behind his loving wife, Jean; son, Dave (Dawn) and their two daughters, Kara and Krista (Josh); and his great granddaughter, Emma (Krista’s daughter); son, Mike and his two sons, Kyle and Corey, and daughter, Brianne; his daughter, Vicki (Tom) Smith and their two sons, Thomas and Michael; son, Stephen (Tanya) and their daughter, Taryn. Also survived by his brother, Stuart (Iris) and their daughter, Tina and son, Brent; nephew, Wayne (Yvonne) (Gordon’s son).

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society are gratefully appreciated.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Alex’s life will occur on October 16, 2010 from 1 pm to 3 pm at 7 Eaton Avenue, Victoria.
