August 30, 1926 – November 10, 2010
Alfredo has left us and now walks with Jesus in paradise. He was born and raised in the seaside village of Ponta Garca, on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal.
Alfredo immigrated to Canada at the age of 30, and we are so grateful that he landed in Victoria, BC to start a new chapter in his life. After working various jobs, he discovered his passion for gardening, and was employed as such for 18 years until retiring from the municipality of Oak Bay. He was predeceased by his parents Antonio Tavares Perdigao, Maria do Espirito Santo Curvelo, his sisters, Urania, Olympia, Eugenia, Maria, and his brother Antonio.
Alfredo is survived by his wife Madalena; his sister Laura in Brazil; his children Fred (Grace), Louisa, Suzana (Barry) Kalyn; grandchildren Tyler, Jeffrey, Selena, Alyssa, along with his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Prayers will be held on Sunday, November 14 at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4635 Elk Lake Road, Saanich, BC.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 15 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
