Alice passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on March 2, 2016. Born and raised in Nakusp, B.C, she moved to Victoria to attend nursing school, graduating as a registered nurse in 1945 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. She married Reginald William Fraser Biscoe in 1950 and raised four children in Victoria. They divorced in 1976 and she later married Harold Scott Baldwin. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Enid Shelling; her brother, Ernest; son, Ian; and husband, Harold. She leaves behind her children: daughter, Anne Walker (Bill); and sons, Michael Biscoe (Betty) and Hugh Biscoe; as well as grandchildren, Ian Stewart (Jeannie), Robert (Melanie) and John Walker, Fraser Clarke, Jon Stones; and great-grandchildren, Connor and Isla Stewart. She also leaves much loved friends and extended family in BC and the USA.
The family would like to thank the interdisciplinary care team of 4 South at the Royal Jubilee for care in Alice’s last days, and Dr. Lisa Gough for years of compassionate care. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunrise Senior Living (Victoria) for their compassion, care, and shared laughter with our mother during the last eight and a half years.
Alice’s love and laughter will live on in all the lives she touched and all the smiles she left behind.
A Memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, Quadra Street at Rockland Avenue, Victoria on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at 11:30 am.
