June 8, 1923 – April 28, 2013
Ana was born in Kaluderovac, Lika, Croatia. She passed away after a lengthy illness, at the age of 89 at Cowichan District Hospital, to join her husband Ivan, who passed away just 13 days ago. She was predeceased by her parents Ivan and Kata Prsa; four infant children; granddaughter Sandra Kruljac; two brothers and one sister. She is lovingly remembered by her son Ivica; daughters Jela Kruljac (Luka), Kata Novosel (Zeljko); granddaughter Sonja Cakanic (Silvije); three greatgrandsons Jakov, Jan, Luka; sister Marija Kruljac; cousins Ana Arbanas, Frane Klemencic and their families. She will be greatly missed by many friends, neighbours, Kumovi, Prijatelji, and all the children whom called her “Baka” in Croatia and Canada. A special “Thank you” to Dr. Broere and staff of Cowichan Hospital.
Prayers will be offered at St. Leopold B Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 4081 Gordon Head Road in Saanich at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Leopold B Mandic Croatian Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
